in 3Girls Theatre’s New Works Festival
In this 30-hour developmental workshop, The Trees creative team focused on harmony and story. We presented concert readings at iconic community LGBTQ+ Leather Bar The Eagle and in 3Girls Theatre’s Festival of New Works.
We were so proud SF Eagle Players and legacy leather & LGBTQ+ bar, Eagle SF hosted this event, especially since they have held space for our community’s exuberance, revolutions in cultural expression, and the profound hardship of the AIDS epidemic for over 40 years. 21+ only.
It meant the world to us to participate in this festival. 3Girls Theatre challenges gender bias within theater, providing dedicated support to a multiracial, multigenerational cohort that includes cis and trans women, gender non-conforming artists, and trans men.
Local public radio station KALW hosted this festival, providing the recording opportunity we needed for our production-ready package. KALW, in turn, occupies a space created by San Francisco’s Vacant to Vibrant program, further deepening The Trees’ San Francisco roots.
